Valentin Baros, 88, a resident of Española, New Mexico went to be with our Lord and join his wife in heaven, May 26, 2011. He was born in Chaperito, NM on April 24, 1923 to the late Adelaido and Juvencia Baros. Valentin was a WWII Army Veteran with the Medical Corp. of 3 years. He moved to Española and met his beloved wife, Mary Baros. He retired from the Los Alamos Post Office. Valentin loved to be around his family. One of his favorite places to go was the Senior Center during the day to spend time with all his friends playing bingo. He was a very loving father, grandfather and friend and will be very greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Baros; parents, Adelaido and Juvencia Baros; brother, Antonio Baros; close cousins: Petra Castillo and Sylvia Ortega. He is survived by his son, Jake and wife Yvonne Baros; sisters-in-law: Virginia Baros and Porfilia Martinez; grandchildren: Robert, Steven, Jake Jr., Debra and Amanda Baros all of Española; great-grandchildren: Angelica, Michael, Demitri, Jacob Jr., Alessa, Jennifer, Alexis, Stephanie and Angel; God-sons, James Esquibel and Randy Martinez; very close cousin, Cecilia Jaramillo; many other loving relatives & friends. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with interment to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. with the following serving as pallbearers: Jake Baros Jr., Steven Baros, Robert Baros, James Esquibel, Robert Garcia, Michael A. Baros, Eddie A. Archuleta and Tomas Lopez; honorary: Amanda Baros, Debra Baros, Gloria Martinez, Louise Kontos and all his great-grandchildren.
