Urban Bustos, 57, a resident of Belen but born and raised in Chamita passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso Bustos and Olivia Montoya-Bustos; his ex-wife, Grace Bustos; paternal grandparents, Melquaides and Lugarda Bustos, maternal grandparents, Abel Montoya and Manuelita Montoya; his nephews, Bryan Edmonds and Jeremy Bustos. Urban was a religious man, sand painter artist, a great fisherman, a good guitarist and had many other talents. His sand paintings are at the Carrie Tingely Hospital in Albuquerque and at the Smithsonian. He enjoyed spending time with his only son, who lived with him and took care of him during his illness. He was a great father. Urban is survived by his children, Joe Bustos of Belen, Jessica Bustos and companion Brian Trujillo of Chamita, Jennie Bustos and companion Adam Mora of Chilili; granddaughter, Zoe Sandoval of Chamita; brothers, Eugene and wife Teresa Bustos of Albuquerque, Pete and wife Jude of Los Lunas, sister, Nathalie Bustos Edmonds of Rio Rancho, and many other friends and relatives. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a memorial mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., with a burial to follow at the Alcalde Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers Eugene Bustos, Pete Bustos, Brandon Tenorio, Bryan Edmonds, Kevin Romero, and Brian Trujillo. Reception will be held at the San Juan Parish hall following the burial. The family of Urban Bustos has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.\r\n \r\n
