Tony Richard “Chepa” Vigil, 75, a resident of Chama passed away from a lengthy illness on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. He was very proud of serving in the United States Navy. He loved to listen to Spanish music and tell many jokes. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was well known by all the members of the community. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Librado Vigil and Rosario Delgado; wife, Adonaida Vigil; sons: Toby and Antonio Vigil; daughter, Patricia Vigil; brother, Ramon Vigil; sister, Nellie Pacheco; great-grandson, Lucas Talamante. Tony is survived by his sister, Rafaelita Morton of Wisconsin; sons: Archie Vigil and wife Gloria and Juan Vigil of Chama; granddaughter that he raised, Felicia Vigil of Chama; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous other loving relatives & friends. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama. Burial will follow at the Chama Community Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers: Miguel Valdez, Salamon Ulibarri, Flavio Martinez, Conrad Rivas, Chris Vigil, Ray Jaramillo; honorary pallbearers: Toby Vigil, Jr., Vincent, Juan and Richard Vigil and Eric Montaño.
