Tina Elaine Salazar; artist and weaver and resident of Canones passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday March 13, 2021. Tina is preceded in death by Abran Serrano, Luis Lucero and Adelaida Lucero. She is survived by daughter Judith Strait, son in law Jonathan Strait and their children Jonathan, Joshua and Jacob. Son Freddy Salazar, daughter in-law Robyn Montoya and their children Miquella, Raymond, Elliora and Jayden. Daughter Andrea Salazar and her children Aaron, and Myah.  Parents Benita and Epimenio Lucero. Grand Mother Georgia Serrano. Brothers Luis Lucero and his wife Florence Lucero and their children Luis and Nevaeh. Brothers Levi and Jose Lucero. Sister Cora Lucero and her daughters Ashlyn and Caitlyn Lorenzo. Partner for the last 27 years Ray Leyba and his children Daisy Jurado and Timmy Leyba.

Tina was born in Ogden Utah June 16, 1967. Tina was a self employed artist who loved making beautiful weavings. Tina was a hard working woman who was not afraid to get her hands dirty. She lived the last 27 years with her partner Ray Leyba, not only as his partner but best friend and caregiver. Tina brought light to those around her, her smile and laughter were contagious. Tina will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace and continue to look over all of us from the heavens above.

Tina will be laid to rest at Canones Catholic Cemetery. There will be a private gathering to celebrate her life. The family of Tina Elaine Salazar has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477-www.devargasfuneral.com
