Tiburcio M. Vigil, 88 years old from Chimayo, NM, was a firm believer in Jesus. Dad/Grandpa would pray daily that he was ready for God to take him. God answered his prayers on March 8, 2022, and now he is with his Lord and Savior. Tiburcio was born March 31, 1933, at his home in Chimayo, to his father Fabian, and mother Sabina Vigil.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fabian and Sabina Vigil, his brothers Corpentino “Corp” and Estanislado “Tiny” Vigil, his beautiful beloved wife Emilia Vigil, son Max, daughter Sharon Vigil, and his granddaughters Kathy and Nicholl.
He is survived by his daughter Joyce Pacheco, son Dicky Vigil, son Joel (Lisa) Vigil, grandchildren; Joey Martinez ,Joshua, Sandee, Erika and Marty Vigil as well as Fabian, Veronica Davis and Jolene Stamp.
Tiburcio worked at the mines in Montana at a very young age. He also worked as a lineman for Gallup and different areas in New Mexico. He worked also in Los Alamos for many years.
Grandpa enjoyed cruising to go see the scenery of the beautiful New Mexico area. He loved when people would visit him and he would talk about the old days. He enjoyed sitting on the porch soaking up the warmth of the sun. Grandpa has a sweet tooth, his favorite candies were Snickers and Butterfinger and his favorite drink, coffee. He always had his keys around his neck, his watch on his left arm, and his moleta. Grandpa will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
A visitation will take place on Friday, March 18, 2022 at DeVargas Funeral Home of Espanola at 6:30 pm. Burial will be at 11:30 am Saturday April 30, 2022 at the Holy Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM.
Serving as pallbearers are Joey Martinez, Joshua, Marty, Fabian, Gerald, Mark and Andy Vigil.
