Teresa (Terry) Lucero

Teresa (Terry) Lucero, 69, a resident of La Mesilla, passed away on Thursday Oct. 21, 2021 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; Elfego and Dolores Telles. Siblings; Ernesto, Nestor and Elfego (Sonny) Telles, and Barbara Telles. Brother-in-law; Santiago (Jimmy) Jaramillo. Terry is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Nabor (Larry) Lucero. Son; Lawrence Lucero and Judy Garcia of La Mesilla. Daughter; Laura Trujillo and husband Mike of La Mesilla. Grandchildren Brianna Lucero and Angel, Dominic Lucero and Rieann Jeter, Heather Trujillo and Jesus Ortega, Joseph Trujillo and Angelyssa Montoya, Anthony Trujillo, Michael and Katelynn Trujillo, Johnny Garcia and Kasey and Justin Garcia. Siblings; Yolanda Telles, Patsy Telles, Santiago (Jimmy) and Sharon Telles, Christy Garcia, Estella Scouten and Celestina Telles. Brother and sisters-in-law; Bertha Jaramillo, Raymond Lucero and Bennie, Anthony (Steve) Lucero, Leonard Lucero and Carol, Sandy Lucero, Nena Telles and Freddie Barrientos. Great grandchildren; Jayden, Niyke, Adrian, Braylee, Alexys, Josie, Violet, Elijah, Angelo, Jordan, Leashay, and a baby girl on the way. Numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Terry has touched the lives of so many people with her loving and caring nature. She had a love for animals especially her numerous cats throughout the years. She blessed her family and friends with her smile and laughter. She always made sure everyone was taken care of and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She worked hard for 30 years at LANL and enjoyed her retirement with her loving husband and family. She is truly missed by her family and friends and remember, it’s not good-bye, it is “see you later”

Public visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory in Espanola with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. ay Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz.
