Socorro Mercado-Perez, 66, a resident of Hernandez passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Socorro was born in Durango, Mexico to Leandro Mercado and Maria Luisa Perez. She loved to spend time watching her novelas and time at the Casinos. Socorro is survived by her children: Juliana Ybarra of Alcalde, Gerardo Sosa of Hernandez, Porfirio Sosa of North Carolina; grandchildren: Jannet Sosa, Veronica Ybarra, Christina Ybarra of Española; other relatives & friends. Cremation is being planned. Services will be held at a later date.
