Simonita V. Vigil, a resident of Rio Chiquito, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, October 5, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Moises Vigil; sons, Jerry and Jake Vigil; daughters, Angelina and Maximiana Vigil; parents, Jose Inez and Marcelina Vigil; brothers, Pete and Bernabe Vigil; sister, Maximiana Vigil; Parents–in-law, Emiliano and Sinforosa Vigil, and sister-in-law, Lilly Cordova. Simonita loved her family dearly. Special moments that she spent with them meant everything to her especially if it was doing what she loved most. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers, her dog, Tiny, and all her different animals. She was a devoted Christian who loved worshipping God and reading the bible. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, traveling and crocheting. Simonita is survived by her children, Grace (Henry) Vigil-Salazar, Joyce (Henry) Vigil-Sandoval, Daniel Vigil (Norma), Robert (Renee) Vigil, and Jenny Vigil; grandchildren, Patricia, LeeAnne (Davi), Vanessa (Damon), Teresita (Eric), Ashley, Angelina, Joseph (Kayla), Joshua, Carlos, Julianna (Pat); great-grandchildren, Jose Moises, Trinity, Kyleigh, Carlos Jr., Joseph Jr., Teo, Noah, Aryannah, Laelah, and Simone; and brother-in-law, Tony S. Vigil. A Devotional service will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española. Funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. also at Victory Faith Church, with a burial to follow at the Cundiyo Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Joseph Vigil, Joshua Sandoval, Carlos Atencio, Jose Moises Lopez, Damon Hansel, Eric De La Torre, and Davi Hasslacher. Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jimmy, David, Pete, Benny, Clyde Vigil, Isaac Cordova and other family and friends. The family of Simonita V.
