Simona M. Age - 96 - Chama Trujillo

Simona M. Trujillo, 96, a resident of Chama, NM passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and friend to many. Simona loved the outdoors especially fishing. Her favorite lake was Mundo in Dulce, NM. Fishing was a Sunday ritual for her. Simona enjoyed getting out to play bingo. She did not gamble but loved her bingo. She will be dearly missed by her family & friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Flavio Trujillo; infant children: Gregorio, Albertito and Anna; son, José Jr.; parents, Vicente and Raquel Martinez; brothers/sisters: Vicente, Ernestina, Petra, Mary, David and José. Mrs. Trujillo is survived by her daughters: Abenilde Lopez and Vicenta Neher both of Chama; grandchildren: Michael Lopez and wife Lily of Los Brazoz, Benito Lopez of Chama, Margaret Elwell and husband Tom of Casa Grande, AZ; Vicente Lopez of Albuquerque, Arletta Hogan and husband Mikell of Priest River, ID; great-grandchildren: Michael Albert Lopez of Pojoaque, Rachel Elwell of Las Vegas, NV, Stephen Elwell of Casa Grande, AZ, Eric Belser of Roswell; great great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Faith Lopez of Pojoaque, Sharnai Hogan of Priest River, ID, Dallas Lopez of Albuquerque, Dominic and Wyatt Lopez of Albuquerque. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama with a rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama with burial to take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be: Eric Belser, Benito Lopez, Tom Elwell, Stephen Elwell, Michael Albert Lopez and Joseph Martinez.
