\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Sherron Elliott entered into eternal rest at home in Los Alamos after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Fisher and sister Loretta. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Alverton A. Elliott; her sons Nicholas and his wife Carol and two grandsons Logan and Ramsey; and Matthew and his wife Maria and grandsons Thomas and Pietro and granddaughter Cristina. She is also survived by her brother Eric and two sisters Callie and Adrienne all residing in Pennsylvania in addition to nephews and nieces. Sherron had a passion for gardening and wanted as many as possible to share in this love. She became involved with the New Mexico Garden Clubs, Inc in August 1991. She became an Accredited Flower Show Judge in October 1996 and completed her transition to Master Accredited Judge in the fall of 2005. Sherron served in many capacities with the District II Judges Council, State Judges Council, Summit Garden Club and Floral Designers Garden Clubs. She was District II Director and was elected NMGC, Inc. 1st Vice-President for 2009-2011. She was an active member of the Santa Fe Iris Society, American Iris Society (AIS), and a founding member of the Master Gardeners of Los Alamos. She was an AIS Exhibition/Garden Judge. She was active in presenting programs to the garden clubs in the area and was on the flower committee at her church and place floral designs at the local Library as part of the Summit Garden Club. She enjoyed doing floral designs using the many varieties of flowers that she grew in her home garden. She lovingly shared her flowers, cuttings, and knowledge with her friends and neighbors. Sherron had been the NMGC Legislative State Chair and was serving as the NMGC Keep New Mexico Clean representative for the past 10 years. Her dedication and hard work was recognized when she was selected by the NM Clean Committee Chairperson to serve as an executive board member on the Governor’s Litter Control Council starting in 2006, a position she held until her passing. Sherron and Al loved to travel by train and recently enjoyed trips to Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Chicago and the Grand Canyon. “Grammie” loved spending time with her 5 grandchildren and made many a trip across the country to be with them. She was also an avid bowler in the Tuesday House Wives Bowling League and enjoyed traveling to the many State and National bowling tournaments around the country. Sherron shared her faith and trust in God with Al as active members of the United Church of Los Alamos. The memorial service for Sherron will be held Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 am at the United Church of Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Rd. This will be followed by a reception at the Church. The Elliott Family invites you to share in her life with them at the service.
