Sergio - Age 82 - Chamita Duran

SERGIO DURAN, 82, a resident of Chamita, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Todosio and Maria Lucia Duran; sisters, Gregorita Duran Rael; brother, Jose del la Luz Duran; half-sisters, Lola Candelaria and Cleo Barela, Laura Martinez, Senaida Sanchez and Secundio Martinez; brothers-in-law, Valentin Sandoval and Pablo Barela; aunts and uncles, Juanita Duran and Pedro Barela, Orlinda Barela Sandoval, Lorenzo Sandoval, Soloman Duran, Rufina Martinez, Benito and Ascencion Sandoval, Evita and Bonifacio Trujillo, Severano Duran, Juan Fernandez, Eufelia Montoya, Ninfa and Adriano Duran, Juanita Martinez, Elviria Medina and Chonna Herrera. Sergio loved to farm and work in his garden, his yard was always clean. He worked since a very young age and retired as an inspector at the Rail yards. Mr. Duran is survived by his wife, Maria Inez Sandoval-Duran of Chamita; sister, Aselia Sandoval of Wyoming; brother, Melisendro Duran and wife Eugenia; cousins and caregivers, Petrita Sandoval-Salazar of Chamita; nieces, Eloy and Grace Sandoval and Elizabeth Cobb, Melissa Martinez, Ray Romero, Guillermo and Manuel Salazar, Walter Sandoval, Deena Palmer, Ida and Robert Herrera, Adolfa, Antonio and Rosa Sena and Jose Herrera and numerous other relatives and friends. A devotional service will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 art 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Truchas Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the Los Llanitos Cemetery in Truchas with the following serving as pallbearers: Jake Sandoval, Manuel Salazar, Walter Sandoval, Ray Romero, Guillermo Salazar, Roy Martinez and Melissa Martinez.
