Sedelia G. Jaramillo, 89, a resident of Abiquiu passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on Thursday, June 9, 2011. She was a member of the Santo Tomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, NM. She worked in San Juan Elementary School Systems as a head cook, also worked at the Ghost Ranch as a cook. Sedelia was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a very special aunt. She was a livid farmer and rancher all her life. She enjoyed her time at the Casino relaxing. Sedelia was preceded in death by her husband Jeronimo Jaramillo; parents, Maria de Los Angeles and Jose Pedro Garcia; brother, Rumaldo Garcia; sisters: Celina Garcia, Helen and Raymond Knez, Trinidad and Tomas Jaramillo, Emma and Ray Lucero; nephews: Billy Jaramillo, Pete Garcia and Joe Jaramillo. Sedelia is survived by her son, Archie Jaramillo and wife Julia of Abiquiu; grandchildren: Cindy Martinez and husband Anthony of Amarillo, TX; Michael Jaramillo and wife Paula of Amarillo, TX; Ginger Candelaria and husband Juan of Española, NM; Jerome Jaramillo and wife Holly of Española, NM; great-grandchildren: Dianna and companion Victor Velasquez and Amber Martinez, Jazmyn Jaramillo, Amanda and Tommy-Lee Villareal, Cloie, Sonya and Kaleo Jaramillo; sisters-in-law: Mary Garcia and Margaret Valdez of Santa Fe, NM; brother-in-law, Salomon Jaramillo and wife Erma of San Pedro, NM. Public visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. A second rosary will be recited on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu with burial to follow at Abiquiu Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Richard Lucero, Gene Jaramillo, Pete Jaramillo, Greg Knez, Larry Jaramillo and Joe Lopez; honorary pallbearers will be her god-children: Cindy Martinez, Pita Lopez, Roman Padilla, Cathy Maestas, Cathy Duvall, Priscella Herrera, Nancy Martinez and Celina Jaramillo.
