Savina Sylvia Rivas

Savina Sylvia Rivas, 36, a resident of Santa Cruz, NM, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025. Savina was born January 29, 1989, in Espanola to Tommy Rivas and Diana Quintana Dominguez.

Savina was preceded in death by her grandfather Dave Quintana; grandparents Thomas and Syria Rivas; uncles Peter and Johnny;  aunts Isabella, Donna, Julie, Priscilla, Irma and Linda; cousins Kenny, John Barber Sr. and John Barber Jr., Maria; and grandma Lilly Martinez. 

Savina was survived by daughters Annastasia, Alexiz, Antonita; her sons Angelo and Johnny including Jasmine and Jacob; grandparents Richard and Savina Martinez; mother Diana and stepfather Ricky Dominguez; biological father Tommy; brother Alex and Ricky Jr.; Nina Abelina Martinez; sister-in-law Priscilla; nephew Julius; foster brothers Manuel, Alexito, Juanito, Brian and Marvin; foster sisters Vyneshya, Clorissa and many of other family members and friends. Savina had many close cousins as well. Too many to mention whom she loved all dearly. I would like to mention Julian, Rhonda, and Veronica. She admired her aunts Sarah, Sophie, Pauline, Mary, Helen, Memo, Diana De la Cruz and Anita; and uncles Ricky, David, Andrew, Johnny R. and Rodger.

Savina enjoyed the great outdoors, swimming, dancing, gatherings, and parties. She was an outgoing, happy, proud person, and had a strong personality. In addition to helping others and being selfless, she was devoted to her medical career and cared deeply about others and whom loved her children unconditionally.

Services are on Friday, April 25, 2025, at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM, with a Rosary to start at 6:00 pm.

A Mass will be on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 10:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM. A meal will follow at the Senior Stroke Center in Espanola, NM, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
