Santiago "Jamie" - Age 36 - Chimayo Vigil

Santiago “Jamie” Vigil – Age 36 a resident of Chimayo passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Bonifacio and Juanita Vigil; maternal grandfather, Max Esquibel; aunt, Mary Louise Jaramillo; and cousins: John Sherwood, Christopher Sherwood and Michael Esquibel. Jamie was an Española Valley High School graduate of 1993; he received a bachelors of science in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University in 1999. He enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends, his kids were his pride and joy. He is survived by his children: Cherish and Santiago Vigil of Chimayo; parents: Jimmy and Barbara Vigil of Chimayo; brother, Bonifacio Vigil of Las Cruces; sister, Reina Vigil-Sanchez and husband Dwayne of Cordova; nieces and nephews: Gavin Heffelfinger, Santana and Marisol Vigil, DJ, Breanna, Justin, Brayden and Tristen Sanchez; grandmother and Godmother, Louise Esquibel of Cuarteles; aunts and uncles: Earl and Irene Sherwood of Chimayo, Charlie and Thelma Esquibel and Max G. and wife Anita Esquibel all of Cuarteles, Bert and Chanda Vigil and Carl and Ida Mae Stevens all of Chimayo; and numerous cousins and other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial will follow at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Martin Rivera, Martin Sherwood, Danny Esquibel, Derrick Martinez, Josh Martinez and Jose Augilar. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Joel, Carlos, Matthew and Alejandro Esquibel, Manuel and Juanita Vigil, Wenonah and Cody Stevens and Andres Jaramillo.
