Salomon Trujillo

Salomon M. Trujillo, 98, a lifelong resident of Chimayo, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ignacita Trujillo; his mother, Encarnacion (Chonita) Sandoval; son-in-law, Juan C. Trujillo; grandson, Leonard Trujillo and a great grandson, Anthony P. Martinez; brothers, Ruben and Adonais Sandoval. As a young man Salomon worked as a miner in New Mexico and Colorado. He worked many years as a Supervisor for Zia and Pan AM Company. His favorite pass time was going to yard sales and fishing. He is survived by his children, Alice Trujillo; Nora Trujillo and husband Nestor of Rio Chiquito; Corelia Serrano and husband Carlos of El Llano; Josina Trujillo and Husband Louis; Sylvia Montoya and husband Froylano; Joe Trujillo and wife Bernie of Chimayo; sisters, Flora Leyba and Dora Vigil; Eralia Garcia; sister-in-law Candelaria Sandoval; a special friend Sara Barrios and 2 special granddaughters, Crystal Montoya and Sandra Baca; 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren and many God children, relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a wake service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at Nuestra Señora de Carmel Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are, Eddie, Casey, Steve, and Jerry Trujillo, Cliff Serrano and Crystal Montoya. Honorary pallbearers are, Michael, Judy Sammy and Darrell Trujillo, Sandra Baca, Corine Espinoza and Tammy Martinez. The family of Salomon M.
