Sally Martinez

d. December 8, 2020

We mourn the loss of our lovely and beloved Sally who went home to her Heavenly Father on December 8, 2020.  Words alone cannot describe her kindness, generosity and her faithful devotion to God and family.  Sally truly believed in the healing power of the Holy Rosary.  She had a devout devotion to our Blessed Virgin Mary and her son, Jesus Christ.  Sally was a teacher and truly loved Lynda Spencer, the entire staff of Blanco Elementary School and her many students throughout her nearly 20 years of teaching.

Although she will be deeply missed we take comfort in knowing she is resting at peace with all her family, friends and loved ones who have gone before her.  Sally was preceded in death by Ruth Arellano (mother), Steve “Junior” Arellano (brother), Juanita & Pancho Gallegos, Fr. Vidal Martinez, Juan Martinez, Rafael ‘Shorty’ Martinez, Marcella & Gonzalo Gonzales (sister and brothers), Simon Martinez, Jr. (father-in-law).

Sally is survived by Mike Martinez, her ‘babe’ husband of 26 years, Eusebio & Rita Arellano (father & mother), Rafaelita Martinez (mother in Abiquiu), Andrew Arellano (brother/son), Miranda Padilla (daughter), Amanda & Corey Wilson (daughter and son), Florentino Padilla (Miranda and Amanda’s father), Sean Martinez (son), Andrea & Cody Hartsfield (daughter & son), Kayla Hartsfield (granddaughter), Cadyn Hartsfield (grandson), Tyler “Widdle Bob” Stock (adopted grandson), Verna (Cathy) & Sam Gonzales, Jessica Cindy & Brian Everett, Lori & John Howell, Anna Martinez, Lonnie Martinez, Phillip Martinez, Albert Martinez, Alyx Martinez, Simon Martinez, Ben & Dolores Martinez, Melinda Mondragon, Elizaida Martinez, Tita & Robert Rivera, Agapita Martinez (sisters and brothers), Eluid & Connie Martinez, Edward Buffett (padrinos), and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2100 E. Street, Farmington, NM 87401, 505-325-0287. The family of Sally Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
