Sadie Moya

Sadie Moya, 89, of Abiquiu, NM, passed away on May 23, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Sadie is preceded in death by her parents Amarante and Jesusita Garcia; husband Benjamin Moya Jr; daughters Debra Medina and Annette Torres; grandson Johnny Torres (was raised like a son); siblings Magdalena Gutierrez and Amarante Garcia Jr.

Sadie is survived by her sons Anthony Torres (Debbie) of Salt Lake City, UT, Lorenzo Torres (Rosalee) of Aurora, CO, Delvin Garcia and Dean Moya both of Abiquiu, NM;  daughters Carmen Lopez (Frankie) of Abiquiu, NM, and Opolonia Abeyta (Richard) of Lake Point, UT; Loretta Torres (Tony) of Abiquiu, NM; brother Paul Garcia (Toni) of West Valley City, UT; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 16 great great-grandchildren; and many numerous relatives and friends. 

Sadie was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.  She was so devoted to her catholic faith.  She was a member of the San Antonio Society de Abiquiu.  Her home was always open to her family and friends.  She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

On Friday, June 9, 2023, a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, NM.  On Saturday, June 10, 2023, a Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, NM, burial to follow immediately at the Abiquiu Cemetery.
