Ruth C. Moya

Ruth C. Moya , 84, a resident of Taos, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 20, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Moya; parents, Tranquelino and Juanita Vigil; siblings, Tranquelino, Jr, Lucia Vigil, Isabel Abeyta, Viola Romero, Tessie Gordon, Duane Velasquez and Francis Vigil. Ruth worked many years at the original La Cocina restaurant located on the Taos Plaza and also was a waitress at the Wine Shop. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her children, Lucy White (Daegan), Frank Moya (Elaine), MaryAnn Mattox (Frank), Dolores Moya (John), Charles Moya, Carmen Gonzales (Leroy), and a special person she considered a child, Sunny Spruce; 15 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Martinez and Margaret Trujillo. Along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.   Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family of Ruth C. Moya has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
