Rosita Lozano May 12, 1951 – July 4, 2026

Rosita Lozano, 75, of Chili, New Mexico, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Rosita was born on May 12, 1951, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was known for her kind heart, selfless spirit, and the unconditional love she shared with everyone she met. Each morning, she began her day with prayer on her way to work, placing her trust in God to guide her every step.

A dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Rosita spent her career caring for others with patience, kindness, and compassion. She touched countless lives through her work, always treating others with dignity and love. Her caring nature extended beyond her profession and was evident in every aspect of her life.

Family was Rosita's greatest blessing. She found immense joy in cooking and baking for those she loved, hosting holiday gatherings, shopping, and creating cherished memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort, where everyone was welcomed with open arms and a home-cooked meal.

Rosita also had a deep love for music and dancing. Music brought joy to her soul, and she had a way of making every celebration a little brighter with her smile. She was always ready to extend a helping hand in any situation, offering kindness, encouragement, and support to anyone in need.

Rosita will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, gentle strength, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy of compassion and kindness will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her fathers, Enrique Maestas and Charles Tinkham; her mothers, Adelina Maestas and Rufina Lucero; her beloved son, Juanito Valerio; her brothers, Donald Tinkham, Ricky Yardman, Larry Gallegos, and Pete Maestas; her sisters, Alice Tinkham and Charlotta Johnson; her brother-in-law, Antonio Lozano; Jose Duran; her nephews, Peter Maestas, Jirommy Cordero, and Eli Lozano.

Rosita is survived by her devoted husband, Armando Lozano; her beloved children, Henrietta Martinez (partner, Vicente Salazar), Estevan Valerio, Tianna Mendiola (partner, Wayne Trujillo), Amanda Maez (partner, Orlando Lopez), Marbella Archuleta (partner, Jose Galindo), Carlos Archuleta (partner, Lena Cordova), and Juanito Mendiola (partner, Tiana Martinez).

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Mikayla Galvan (partner, Ernest Salinas), Ruby Galvan, Estevan Valerio (partner, Madi), Armando Mendiola (partner, Jestiny), Theres Mendiola, Trinity Mendiola, Josiah Mendiola, Martina McCubbin (husband, Connor McCubbin), Mianna Maez, Matthew Romero, Rozie Espinoza, Aaliyah Archuleta, Alanii Archuleta, Myla Archuleta, and Amia Archuleta.

Rosita was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Anthony Mendiola, Cayson McCubbin, Maisley McCubbin, and Ezra Valerio.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Ortiz; her siblings, Jerry Richards, Steven Tinkham, Delores Tinkham, Cordel Tinkham, and Rosalina Atencio; her sister-in-law, Emily Maestas; as well as numerous extended family members, including Telma, Noe, Gerardo, Marlon, Andrea, Bethy, Oscar, Estevan, Luis, German, Nancy, Germancito, Fernanda, Paky, Viviana, Paul, Rebecca, Barbara, Priscilla, and Diego, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, the legacy of her love, strength, faith, and generosity will continue to live on through all who knew her. She leaves behind a family forever grateful for her sacrifices, wisdom, and endless love. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration for generations to come.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with the Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at De Vargas Funeral Home in Española, New Mexico.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Española, New Mexico. Burial will immediately follow at San Jose Cemetery in Hernandez, New Mexico.

Pallbearers: Juanito Mendiola, Armando Mendiola, Orlando Lopez, Matthew Romero, Jose Galindo, Vicente Salazar, Rudy Galvan, and Estevan Valerio.

Honorary Pallbearers: German Lozano, Noe Lozano, and Estevan Cordero.

The Lozano family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. Rosita's beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
