ROSINA (ROSE) VIOLA GRAY, 79, a resident of Santa Cruz, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Zenaida Griego in 1981; brother, Juan Santiago Griego in 1991; father, Juan Andres Griego in 1996. Rose was born in Los Ancones, NM on October 16, 1937 to Juan Andres and Zenaida Griego and was raised in Los Ancones and Chamita. After graduation from McCurdy High School in Española, she attended the University of New Mexico for a brief period before completing schooling to become a Certified X-Ray Technician. She was employed by the Española Hospital as an X-Ray Technician for over 14 years before starting to work at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Radiographic Technician. Rose retired from LANL in 1996 after a career of over 26 years and was active in the Santa Cruz Methodist Church in Española. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her son, Michael Gray and wife Jeanette of Chamita with grandsons, Terrance Gray and wife Mindy of Cordova, great-granddaughters, Mariah and Izabella and grandson, Jon Gray of Chamita; daughter, Melanie McDuffie and husband Scott of Chamita with granddaughters, Laureen and Amarette Trujillo both of Los Angeles, California and grandsons, Kyle and Kevyn McDuffie of Albuquerque; son, Neal Gray of Denver, Colorado; sister, Annabelle Suazo and husband Isaac of Vallecitos, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on McCurdy road.
