Rosina L Quintana of Pojoaque passed away peacefully at her home on March 5, 2022

She was born December 24, 1922, to Miguel and Frances Lovato and lived in Santa Fe through 1955. She married Max, her husband, August 1952. They were married for 57 years and shared many happy years living in Pojoaque. They enjoyed going fishing, camping, dancing and hosting family gatherings.

Rosina was preceded in death by her husband Max Quintana, her parents, Miguel and Frances Lovato, her sister Mary Rita Gonzales and husband Sipio Gonzales, her brother Celestino Lovato. Children: daughter, Marie Gallegos and husband Mike Gallegos, Son, Santos Miguel Chavez and daughter, May Roybal. Grandchildren: Jerry Anaya, Marcos Angelo Gallegos, Nadine Gallegos, and Victoria Roybal: Great Grandchildren: Nicholas Chaves. Her Father-in-Law Amarante Quintana, Mother-in-Law Antonia Quintana, Brother’s/Sister’s in Law Patricio and Maria Quintana, Carlos and Genevieve Quintana, Pablo and Amy Quintana, Juan Quintana and Manuelita Quintana.

She is survived by her son Ronald and wife Nellie. Grandchildren: Antoinette Quintana, Rhonda Quintana, Santana Maes (Mike), Tina Vasquez (Allen), Mike Chavez (Wendy), Yolanda Chavez, Louise Rasgado (Porfilo), Michelle Chavez (Richard), and Joanna Roybal. Great Grandchildren, Christopher Quintana, Jason Quintana, Jenae Garcia, Brooklyn Zamora, Joseph Espinoza, Mike Maes Jr., Alijah Vasquez, Allen Vasquez, Ally Vasquez, Mike Chavez Jr., Estevan Anaya, Kaitlyn Anaya, Jacqueline Quintana y Chavez, Robert Quintana, Samantha Quintana, Sister-in-law, Sadie Quintana and many Great Great Grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and dear friends.

Rosina turned 99 on Christmas Eve 2021, she lived a full and happy life, one in which she felt Family was the most important part of her life. Even outside her immediate family she was affectionately known as Grandma Roses. Rosina was a caregiver all her life, taking care of her parents, her In-Law’s, her husband Max, her daughter May, each until their deaths. She helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren into adulthood. She also drove a school bus for Pojoaque Valley Schools making sure to get many children back and forth to school for over 37 years. Rosina used to love to sit and reminisce about her life with everyone that took the time to visit her. She always greeted everyone with a beautiful smile, a hug and amazing grace. For Rosina, Family was Everything.

Pallbearers are Bert Ortiz, Edward Romero, Ricky Quintana, Lawrence Quintana, Carlos Lujan, Pancho Sena, Ben Garcia and Serafin Roybal.

The Quintana Family would like to show their appreciation and gratitude to Los Hermanos de la Santisima Trinidad de El Rancho, Lupe Caravello, AmberCare of Espanola, and Deacon Johnny Archuleta and his wife Elvira Archuleta.

Service for Rosina Quintana will be held April 25, 2022 with a rosary at 9:30am Mass to follow at 11:00am at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Pojoaque. A Burial for Rosina will be at 9:00 am April 26, 2022 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery
