After a brief illness Rosina Pacheco, 85, returned to Heaven and is re-united with her husband SGM(retired US Army) Daniel A. Pacheco (Born in Chimayo, NM 1931-2010).
Rosina was also born in Chimayo, NM. In 1935, Daughter of Manuel and Victoria Chavez (who are both buried in the courtyard of the “El Santuario” church).
She was afflicted by spinal meningitis at the age of 11 and was left totally deaf for the rest of her life. Once all her children were out of the nest she enrolled in classes enabling her to go out into the workforce and eventually retired from working for the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co. Her main residence was in Colorado Springs, but she could be often found staying at her Chimayo house.
She and her husband travelled extensively and lived in 17 different locations throughout their lives (Germany, France, Puerto Rico and numerous in-country locations).
She is survived by 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was a strong and courageous mother, loved by all and will be sorely missed!
Memorial services and viewing will be November 23, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery later in the afternoon.
