Rosina Medina

Rosina L. Medina, born on the first day of summer 1945, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in Los Luceros, NM at age 76 on September 9, 2021. Rosina was a beautiful soul and kind hearted wife, mother, grandmother, god-mother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her father Pedro Lujan, mother Ricarda Gallegos, brothers Abedon and Melvin Lujan, great-grandaughter Aaliyah Medina, father and mother-in-law Ernaldo & Ignacia Medina, and sister JoAnn Medina.

Rosina is survived by her husband of 58 years, Joe Medina; her sons, Joseph (Ruth) and Jeffery (June) Medina, and daughter, Donna Medina. Grandchildren whom she helped raise, Desiree (Raul) and Kevin Medina, Chantii (Jared) Gonzales, and Mario Medina. Great-grandchildren, Jourdyn Vigil, Ariyana and Zarya Gonzales, and Dante Donacio. Sisters, Evelyn Lucero, Linda (Allen) Trujillo, Virginia (Robert) Romero, Jackie (Louie) Salazar, Charlotte and Antonia Lujan, Sandra and Inez Lujan, Florence (Marvin) Velarde, and Cathy Balkey. Brothers, Tony (Patsy) Herrera, Leroy and Randy Lujan, sister-in-law Pablita Lujan, and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, relatives, and friends.

Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 6:00 pm at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Alcalde. Internment to follow at the La Villita Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Joseph, Jeffery, Kevin, Mario and Desiree Medina, Chantii Gonzales and Joseph Montoya.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Mountain Home Health Care Nurses and staff, The family would also like to extend a special thanks and most heartfelt gratitude for friends and family for the loving outpour of visits, phone calls, food, emotional support, and prayers.
