Rosemary Lewis

d. April 9, 2022

Rosemary Lewis, age 70, of Santa Clara Pueblo was born on April 9, 1952, and after a lengthy illness, she passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2022. Rosemary was preceded in death by her father Joseph Naranjo, mother Olaria Sisneros, two brothers Raymond and Jerry Sisneros and one sister Patricia Padilla.

Rosemary worked for many years as a cook at the Santa Clara Head Start. Though she was deaf for most of her life, she was a very strong, outspoken woman who not let anyone stand in her way. Rosie (as some knew her) had a great of sense of humor and was always making people laugh with her crazy jokes. Rosemary was very traditional and would take pride celebrating her Native American heritage, as well as attending Gathering of Nations every year. She enjoyed many things that would keep her occupied, like sewing, baking, and going to the casino. She also loved her grandchildren and would spoil them all the time and even made them their own nicknames. Before she passed, she was expecting a great-grandchild which she was excited for. She will be deeply missed by those that knew her.

Rosemary is survived by her husband of 44 years Travis Lewis, three daughters Marie Sisneros, Anna (Steven) Edmonds, Veronica (Gonsalo) Arenas. Six grandchildren Irie Duran (Mookie), Adrienne (AJ)-(Josh) Lewis, Alexis Arenas (Tubbie), Kenneth Arenas (Rabbit), Brennen Gonzales (Snowbird), and Rylen Arenas (Little Bear). Nephews Terry and Brian Padilla and Jerry Sisneros. Niece Karen (Steve) Aguino, Brother-in-Law Tony Padilla and Sister-in-Law Florence Sisneros. God Parents Raymond & Lila Naranjo and other numerous close relatives.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., following a rosary at 6 p.m. Burial will be on Monday April 11th, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in Santa Clara Pueblo.

Pallbearers: Steven Edmonds, Gonsalo Arenas, Josh Martinez, Kenneth Arenas
