Rose M. Gonzales, a resident of Canones, NM, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Bonifacio Gonzales; parents Antonio and Anita Serrano; sisters Decideria Serrano and MaryAnn Marquez; brothers Rejinaldo and Jerry Serrano; close cousin/friend Adela Martinez.

Rose is survived by her daughter Corine Gonzales; granddaughter raised Bianca Gonzales Sanchez (Daniel); close granddaughter Felicia Arellano; sons Leroy Gonzales(Katherine) and Michael Gonzales(Rachelle); grandchildren Fabian Arellano (Monique) Danielle (Lorenzo) Mariah Gonzales, Aleah Cordova and her great granddaughter who brought her so much Joy, Bonnie.

Rose is also survived by her siblings Joe (Angie), Rachel (Javier) Lucille (Tommy) Modesto (Gina) and Cirilo Vialpando who was like a brother to her; Claudina Salazar a second mother to her; close aunt Rosabel Salazar; companion Frank Lovato and close friend/Aunt Inez Gallegos. Two close nieces Alicia and Lekrisha and many other special family and friends.

Rose was such a loving caring Beautiful soul that lit up any room with her presence and smile. Rose loved going to the casino, embroidery, praying her prayers and rosary, playing on her iPad, and being with her family and friends.

Public Viewing will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 5:30 pm, with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.

Mass will take place at San Miguel Catholic Church in Canones, NM, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at the Canones Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Emmanuel Martinez, Daniel Sanchez, Adrian Torres, Abel Bustillos, Onesimo Serrano, Israel Marquez, Ralph Salazar and Felipe Salazar.

Honorary Pallbearers are Leroy Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Fabian Arellano and Bonnie Gonzales Sanchez.
