Rosaline "Rosalie" Valdez

d. August 14, 2022

Rosaline (Rosalie) Loyola Valdez, our mother succumbed to Cancer on Sunday, August 14, 2022, surrounded by family. Illness came upon her quickly and took her from us too soon. In her last days she told each of her children that she loved them and that having to leave them and knowing that we would miss her were the hardest parts of dying.

Our mother loved life and had faith in the Lord, she wanted to die naturally and when God willed it. No one is ever completely ready for the death of a loved one, but we are grateful that when she passed it was quick and peaceful. Our mother did not want a rosary, mass, or burial, but opted for a small viewing by her family and cremation.

We did our best to respect her wishes during her illness and will continue to do so in her death.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Natividad and Benedicto Montoya, her brother and his Wife, Jerry and Antoinette Montoya, as well as by her Grandson, Nikki Valdez.

She is survived by her sisters and their husbands:  Stella and Emilio Randall and Yolanda and Pancho Galvez. She is survived by her Children:  Marcia Valdez, Michael Valdez, and Leonard and wife Josephine Valdez. She also left behind her Grandchildren:  Jaden Valdez, Mariah and Luis (Husband) Chavira, Jose’ Vigil, Alaiyah Vigil (Great Granddaughter), Daniel Vigil and Ramona (Partner). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Thank you to Aunt Stella and Aunt Yolanda for being with and supporting our mother during her illness and her final days of life, as well as when she passed. A simple memorial service will be held for her at Calvary Church in Arroyo Seco on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 2 p.m., Potluck Reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus.  We invite all who knew our mother and our family to join us in celebrating her life, prayer, and paying your last respects to the family.
