We are saddened to announce the passing of my beloved son, dad, grandpa, our brother, uncle, and friend, Robert L. “Puya” Moya , 47, of Chimayó who resided in Hernandez, and left us peacefully to be with our Lord on March 18, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to Robert F. Moya and Fedelina D. Ortiz on October 6, 1973. He was the first of four children (two boys and two girls). He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Luis M., Domicilia V. Ortiz, and Lourdes Ortega; paternal grandfather, Luciano Moya; father, Robert F. Moya; uncle, Reñaldo Ortiz, and Marcelino Moya, and other relatives.

Robert (AKA) "Puya" was a very neat person. He was meticulous of his appearance and took pride in himself. He was a very protective and loving father to his children.  He loved his faith in the lord. He was an alter server in his childhood years. When he was seventeen, he did the pellegrino walk (100-mile walk). He loved his family & friends which he loved spending time with. He loved his lowriders and hydraulics. He was a talented individual and a jack of all trades. He loved the outdoors especially fishing, camping, and motorcycle riding. He loved doing construction, greeting and helping people wherever he worked.

Robert is survived by his children, Marcelino Martinez (Alexandra), Mariah Hunt (Brandon), Typhanie Moya (Isaac), Latysha Moya (Gabe), Alyanna Moya, Katryna (Aaron), and Robert L. Moya Jr.; mother of his children, Stephanie Moya; companion, Lorretta Salazar and her four sons; his loving mother, Fedelina D. Ortiz; maternal step-grandfather, Jose Ortega; paternal grandmother, Rose Moya; siblings, Unity Trujillo (Marcus R.), Stephen Moya Sr. (Dezeray), Cyrina Villareal (Andres); grandchildren, Azlyanna Hunt, Jedediah, Jayleigh Esearcego, and Aulani Trevizo; nephews and nieces; Marcus P. (Mariah), Matthew Trujillo (Kaitlynn), and God-son, Melachi Trujillo, Adrin Moya, Stephen Moya Jr. (Kimmy), Andres, and Cyrinity Villareal; uncles and aunts, Clarence (Laura) Ortiz, Tito (JoAnn) Ortiz, Berlinda Ortiz, Marlene Ortiz, Yvonne Ortega (Eloy), Lee Ortega (Kim), Rachel Arguello (John) Wifred Ortega, Terri Bachicha (George), Diana Moya, Luciano Moya Jr. (Veronica), Alonzo Moya, and Frances Moya, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The Holy Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10:30 am in the Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz with the Holy mass of Christian burial immediately following. Burial to follow at the San Jose de Hernandez Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are all his children. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Juanito Marquez and Melachi Trujillo.Please join the family with your prayers. May God's peace be with you and yours. The Moya and Ortiz family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who prayed for him, Presbyterian Hospice, DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory Staff, the Hermanos from the Morada de San Francisco in El Duende, and for those that we may have not mentioned, we apologize. Your love and gratitude did not go unnoticed. We love you all.
