Richard “Richie” Trujillo Jr., age 45, a lifelong resident of Rio Chiquito, New Mexico, passed away on January 7, 2026.
Richie was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Josefita Trujillo; maternal grandparents, Martin and Julia Martinez; paternal grandparents, Amarante and Isabel Trujillo; uncles Mike Martinez, Bonifacio Trujillo, Johnny Trujillo, Henry Trujillo, and Charlie Trujillo; aunts Tommie Martinez and Priscilla Rocha; and his best friend, James Medina.
Richie was a loving son, brother, uncle, and nino, known for his beautiful heart and kind spirit. He enjoyed going out dancing, spending time at the casinos, attending concerts, and faithfully watching his favorite teams—the Los Angeles Lakers, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Buffalo Bills. Richie never missed watching the Country Music Awards.
He worked at Los Alamos Transit Mix for two years and dedicated 24 years to Cooks Home Center, where he built many lasting friendships. Richie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Richie is survived by his father, Richard Trujillo Sr.; sister, Annette Trujillo; brother, Anthony Trujillo wife Angelia; goddaughter and niece, Annalia Trujillo; nephews, Nicholas Monroe and Landyn Trujillo; niece, Lainielynn Trujillo; aunts and uncles Freddie Martinez (Marlene), Danny Martinez (Martha), Martin Martinez (Denise), Nora Duran (Rudy), Linda Martinez (Lonnie), Mabel Sanchez, Gilbert Trujillo (Sally), Ruben Trujillo (Lydia), Theresa Trujillo (Dennis), Barbara Trujillo, Mary Trujillo, Gevei Trujillo, Percy Martinez, and many other loving family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Annalia Trujillo, Nicholas Monroe, Landyn Trujillo, Michael Martinez, Isaac Trujillo, Ruben Trujillo Jr., and Adam Trujillo.
Honorary pallbearer is Lainielynn Trujillo.
