Richard Garcia

Our beloved son, Richard Efren (Rick) Garcia, age 59, passed away on July 13, 2023, after a short illness. Rick is survived by his parents, Emily Brower and Richard (Dickie) Garcia (Becky); a son, Gabriel Garcia-Chambers (Casandra); granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Garcia; brother, Steven Ray Garcia; sisters, Deborah Ann Garcia and Stephanie Guinn; nephew, Aaron Lopez; niece and goddaughter, Emillee Garcia; nieces, Anastancia and Madaija Mae Atencio and Bella and Camilla Guerrero; nephew, Marcos Atencio; and grandnephews, Bentley and Jericho Sandoval. 

Rick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Reymundo and Margarita Salazar and paternal grandparents, Manuel and Mela Garcia.

Rick attended Espanola High School.  His work history was in the electronic field, with Honeywell and Digital Corporation.

Rick was an accomplished wood carver and made beautiful crosses.  He loved Colonial art and riding motorcycles.  He possessed self-taught auto mechanic skills, was an amazing Jack of all trades and would cheerfully help anyone who could use his skillful hands.  He also loved to cook and his potato salad was the best anyone ever tasted!

He resided in Velarde, New Mexico.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: 

On Friday, July 21, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 908 West Calle Rosario in Espanola:

11:30 am - Rosary Prayer Service followed by a Eulogy

12:00 noon - Funeral Mass

Interment will take place at a later date.
