Rev. Emilio Age - 97 Española Martinez

Rev. Emilio Martinez, Age 97, born on October 30, 1913 in Gallina NM and a lifelong resident of Espanola, passed away on May 23, 2011. He was a retired minister of the Assemblies of God and longtime member of El Buen Pastor Church in Espanola. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed being outdoors, sports, reading, music and had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father Rev. Tomas Martinez; mother Lugardita Martinez, daughters Clora and Rebecca, brother Librado, and sister Emiliana Chavez. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Teodora Martinez of Espanola, daughters, Sofie Gurule and Carlos of Bloomfield, Trudy Duran of Espanola, Norma Herrera and Art of Espanola, Corinne Russo and husband Joseph of Colorado Springs, CO; Sons, Emilio and Belle of El Rancho, Sy and Jean of Espanola, Tomas and Miei of Goodyear AZ, Jake and Naidene of Espanola, and Rick and JoAnne of Espanola; sisters Abedulia Padilla of Albuquerque, Amalia Roybal of El Rancho and Isabel Sanchez of Espanola; 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and one great great- grandchild. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at El Buen Pastor Church in Ranchitos with burial to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde with his grandsons serving as pallbearers; Chris Martinez, Eli Martinez, Joey Gurule, Gerrick Duran, Ron Herrera, Rich Herrera, Michael Martinez and Steven Martinez.
