Remigio “Pete” Madrid, 62, resident of El Guache, New Mexico, passed away April 17, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 22, 1963, to Isauro and Mary Madrid, and raised on the West Side of Española.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Medardo and Francesquita Gonzales; paternal grandparents, Agapito and Ana Maria Madrid; parents, Mary and Isauro Madrid Sr.; sister, Molly Madrid; brother, Harry Madrid; nephews, David Madrid and Isaac Madrid; mother-in-law, Margaret Sisneros; and brother-in-law, Mark Sisneros.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Madrid; son, Jacob Isaac Madrid (Amber, Chanel & Alex); brother, Isauro Madrid Jr. “EZ” (June); father-in-law, Joe Cecilio Sisneros; sister-in-law, Cathy Sisneros (Luis Gurule); and many beloved aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Special thanks to Luis Gurule and Markie J. Sisneros who helped care for him in his final days.

Pete was a talented mechanic and painter, he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, tending to his yard and his beloved dogs Bebes, Bubba, Luna, Tazzy/Shorty. He formed countless lifelong friendships.

The Rosary is scheduled Monday, April 27, 2026, at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM, at  5:30 P.M. 

A Funeral Mass is scheduled Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Saint Mary’s Church, Ojo Caliente, NM, at 10:00 A.M.
