Regina - Age 95 - Velarde - Armijo

REGINA ARMIJO, 95, a resident of Velarde, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benceslado Armijo; parents, Fidel Vigil and Cleotilde Romero; daughter, Nora Roybal; grandson, Farris Wayne Roybal; granddaughter, April Alexander; brothers, Joe Marcos Vigil, Martin F. Vigil and Antonio Sanchez. Regina was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She had strong convictions and was the Matriarch of the family. She was a member of La Sociedad del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus of Velarde. Her sense of humor always brought a chuckle to those around her. Those who knew and loved her will profoundly keep her in their hearts. She will be dearly missed. Mrs. Armijo is survived by her children, Sadie Armijo, Valerio Armijo and wife Bella all of Albuquerque, Benny Armijo and wife Betty of El Rancho, Maggie Sanchez and husband Mike of Albuquerque, Juanita Armijo and companion Doug Tuggle of White Rock and Marvin Armijo and wife Lucille of Velarde; niece, Roxanne Simmons and family of Utah; grandchildren, William Miera and wife Karen, Derrick Miera all of Albuquerque, Curtis Miera of Española, Valerie Armijo and fiancé Ross Cordova, Leonard Armijo and companion Rachel Azbill all of Albuquerque, Alyx Armijo of El Rancho, Wanda Alexander of Albuquerque, Monica Maes and husband Matthew of Las Cruces, Marvin Armijo Jr. and companion Povi Tafoya of Velarde, Linda Armijo and companion Jeremy Apodaca of Santa Fe; 12 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Velarde. The family of Regina Armijo has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
