Raymond D. (Ray) Wolf, 83, passed away on August 4, 2026, surrounded by his family. He lived a remarkable life defined by service, curiosity and an unwavering commitment to others. He believed in being present, living fully, and investing his time and knowledge in the people around him. The core of his life was his family - his wife Judy of 64 years; his son David and daughter-in-law Barbara; his daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Mike; his grandchildren, Ryan (Johana), Cutter (Marlee), Lynsey (Erin) and his great granddaughter Josie Lane were the center of his world. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Lucille Wolf; his brothers Gerald and Larry; and his sisters Patricia and Beverly.

Ray’s passion for learning, adventure and giving to others began at an early age. At 16 years old he became a volunteer firefighter in Pojoaque. That decision marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to protecting and serving others. His professional accomplishments are extensive, but his greatest impact was always on the people he touched along the way. He was a natural teacher, storyteller, and mentor. Ray gave people his time, shared what he knew, and trusted them to do more than they thought possible. Whether he was training a firefighter, advising a community, supporting his children and grandchildren, teaching a family member to drive his Pontiac LeMans with a stick shift, or explaining the history of northern New Mexico, he made every experience meaningful.

An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he loved being outside and sharing that time with the people closest to him.

Ray lived life to the fullest and poured his time and energy into others. The family he built and the love he shared will continue to shape everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His was truly a life of service. To know Ray was to love him.

A Public Visitation will begin on on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm. 

Burial will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 9:45 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
