Ramon Juan Jose Age - 96 Santa Fe Vigil

Ramon Juan Jose Vigil, 96, a longtime resident of Santa Fe passed peacefully surrounded by his family after a short illness on Sunday, June 5, 2011. Mr. Vigil was a member of El Coro de la Sagrado Familia of Aurora Subdivision, Budaghers, N.M. and Coro San Juan Bautista in Los Huerros. He was a Barber by trade and owner of Center Barber & Beauty Shop in Santa Fe. He worked for the CC Camp during the Depression Era and also for the Railroad in Wyoming. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mr. Vigil was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Dolores Vigil; son, Paul R. Vigil; Grandson, Santiago Vigil; brothers: Salome, Juan, Santiago, Alfonso and Reynaldo Vigil; sister, Refujio Vigil-Duran; He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Aurora Leyva Vigil; children: Raymond L. Vigil and wife Sheila, Gilbert Vigil and wife Helen, Frederico Vigil all of Aurora Sub-Division, Budaghers, N.M.; Dolores Ann Vigil of Albuquerque, Fr. Joseph Vigil of Pueblo, CO; Bernadette M. Vigil of Aurora Sub-Division, Budaghers, N.M.; daughter-in-law, Teresa Vigil of Santa Fe; 16 grandchildren: Jamie V. Jordan and husband Tom, Kamie V. Harmer, Ray A. Vigil and wife Jana, Jody V. Heinold, Velma Herrera and husband Steve, Frank Vigil, Jude Vigil and wife Jenny, Zack M. Vigil and wife Rosa, Adonica D. Castellano and husband David, Javier Cruz, Anika Cruz, Jonah Cruz, Antonette Vigil, Isaiah Vigil, Marisela Vigil, Gretchen Valencia; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. Public visitation will be held on Monday, June13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe with Mr. Vigil’s son Fr. Joseph Vigil celebrant of the Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be all his grandsons; honorary pallbearers will be all his granddaughters. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made in Ramon Juan Jose Vigil’s name to the Carmelite Monastery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
