Ramoncita Garcia

Ramoncita Garcia, 91, born in El Guache and a lifelong resident of Medanales, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2024. 

Ramoncita was preceded in death by her husband Jose; “Primo” Ben Garcia Jr.; daughter Joy Garcia-Moya; and son Gerald Garcia.

Ramoncita is survived by her children: Rita (Carlos) Salazar, Dorothy (Angelo) Jimenez, Gene (Linda) Garcia, Ramon (Georgiana) Garcia, Susan (Gene) Garcia, Hope (Tony) Jimenez, Holly Garcia, (daughter-in-law), Dean Moya (brother-in-law), Rudy (Sandra) Garcia, Beatrice (Roland) Fernandez, Isiah Garcia, raised like a son. Sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

Ramoncita was reserved, but a hard-working person. Ramoncita was the Valedictorian of her class. She helped all her children with their homework. One of her proud accomplishments was playing a solo, “The Song of India,” on her clarinet. Ramoncita pioneered “The Farmers Market.” All her children assisted with the farm work and went to the farmer’s market in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Taos to sell the produce from the farm. 

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu, NM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the San Antonio Cemetery in Medanales, NM. 

Serving as pallbearers: Isaiah Garcia, Jose Benjamin Salazar Jr., Carlo Jimenez, Robbie Garcia, Joshua Garcia and Anthony Jame (A.J.) Crim.

Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
