 With a heavy heart we are sad to announce the passing of Maria Precilia Archuleta Salazar at 76. Precilia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Maria Precilia was born in Los Ojos, NM on Sept 10, 1947, to Abenicio and Maria T. Archuleta.

Precilia was preceded in death by her parents Abenicio and Maria, her loving husband of 45 years Gilbert J Salazar.  Brother Jose D. Trujillo, Sister Maria Olivia Trujillo, Mother-in-law Ruffie Salazar, Sister-in-law Gloria Salazar, Brother-in-law Richard Salazar.  

Precilia is survived by five children Pauline, Gilbert Beto (MaryJo), Charlotte, Norman (Brenda), Jaime (Melinda), a special person Bertha Galvan whom was like a daughter.  Two grandchildren she raised as her own John Paul (Tisha), Jeremy (Andrea). Grandchildren Katrina, Nadine (Sean), Samantha, Pamela (Adam), Norman Jr. (Samantha), Devan, Sherydan, Jayden, And Chailyn. Great Grandchildren Anthony, Alayna, Lane, Jeremy Jr., Paisley, Maverick, Lexi and Kane. She had four Godchildren Olivia, Molly, Luis, and Krystal. Survived by her brother Jose Ernesto Archuleta (Tonie) and Sister-in-law Rose Romero (Ron). Precilia is survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by many family members and friends.

Precilia was always welcoming anyone into her home and prepared many meals she shared with neighborhood kids and family. She was very kindhearted and remembered for her sense of humor. She and Gilbert served as Mayordomos for the Santo Nino Parish and prayed devoutly.  Spending time with her family was what she loved. Most of her grandchildren were blessed to be raised around her as well as her time spent babysitting for other family members. She crocheted beautiful pieces and enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, and camping.  She was the bookkeeper for Gilberts’ business for many years. Hobbies she had were making puzzles and time at the casino.  

Although Precilia is no longer with us her spirit and cherished memories will live forever in our hearts.

We would like to take this time to thank the Roadrunner Healthcare, and Devargas Funeral home. 

Services will be held in her honor on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at San Jose Parish in Los Ojos. Rosary to begin at 10:00 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.  Burial to follow at Los Ojos Cemetery. 

Pallbearers John Paul, Jeremy, Devan, Jayden, Norman Jr., and Anthony.
