Polly Age - 88 - Santa Fe Serna

Polly Serna, a life-long resident of Santa Fe, passed away after a short illness surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the age of 88. She was born in Kelly, NM on September 8, 1923 to Frank and Mary Sanchez. She married her husband Arthur J. Serna in January of 1946. She devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Arthur J. Serna; mother, Mary Sanchez-Gaines; mother-in-law, Trinidad Serna; son-in-law, Jim Chavez. Polly is survived by her four children: Judy Chavez, Teresa Coats, Eva Montoya (Art), and Jim Serna (Irma); 7 grandchildren: Richard, Antonio (Debbie), Brian (Eliza), Barbara (Barbie), Leon, Tanya, and Marc as well as 6 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Joshua Brown, the staff of Rainbow Vision, Elvira Loya, and AmberCare Hospice. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Burial will take place at a later date.
