Peter Sanchez

Peter F Sanchez Jr. "little peter" went to be with our Lord, his dad and sister on March 22,2023.

Peter was born to Dolores and Peter Sanchez Sr. on April 1, 1971. 

Peter attended Santa Fe High School and graduated in 1989. After high school, Peter attended TVI and achieved a Certificate in welding and got a job with Carrier. Peter was a hardworking journeyman as a laborer at LANL. Peter enjoyed hunting, going to the mountains where you would usually find him if he wasn't working, and being on horseback moving the cattle with his dad, grandpa, and uncles.

Peter is preceded in death by his father Peter Sanchez Sr, sister Alichia Sanchez, paternal grandparents Jerry and Lydia Sanchez, maternal grandfather Elmer “Tata” Torres, his favorite uncle Rupert Sanchez, uncles Tony Sanchez, Lawrence Sanchez, Elmer Torres Jr., and cousins Vangie Gonzales and Jerome Sanchez Jr.

Peter is survived by his mother Dolores Sanchez, grandmother Isabel Torres, lifelong friend Joseph “Ben” Casados, nephew Arthur Valencia, girlfriend Kathy Valdez, uncle Jerome Sanchez (Valerie), aunts Cheryl Sanchez, Mary Sanchez, Rose Gonzales, cousins Gina Sanchez (Sergio), Kathleen Sanchez, Dorothy Gonzales, and Elijah Sanchez, great-aunts Rose Martinez, Alice Gallegos, Pearl Sanchez, and great-uncle Jose Vigil.

Serving as Pall bearers are Isabell Torres, Joseph Ben Casados, Arthur Valencia, Wally Martinez, Gary Cobb, Joey Casados, Jerome Sanchez Sr., and Gina Sanchez.

A public viewing will take place on April 14, 2023, at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel and a rosary at 6:00 p.m. On April 18, 2023 at San Juan Catholic Church in San Juan, NM at 10:00 a.m. and the burial will follow at Velarde Catholic Cemetery.
