Pete - Age 61 - Santa Fe - Garcia

Pete Fred Garcia, 61, a resident of Santa Fe, NM passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011. He was born on October 6, 1949. He resided in the Española Valley with his wife of 28 years. Pete was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 412. Prior to his retirement he worked as a Pipefitter for KSL in Los Alamos, NM. Mr. Garcia enjoyed fishing, hunting & riding horses. He had a lot of pride maintaining his yard, his flowers, trees and feeding the humming birds. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred L. Garcia; maternal grandparents, Miguel and Isabel Barbero; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Juanita Garcia; mother-in-law, Sylvia Ortega. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife Joanne of Española; children: Lawrence F. Garcia of Española, Pete A. Garcia and companion Priscilla of Velarde, Teresa A. Garcia and husband George and their son Anthony Garcia of Rio Rancho; mother, Eloida Garcia of Santa Fe; brothers: Ray Garcia and companion Rachael and Steve Garcia of Española; sister, Connie and husband Byron Roberts of Australia; father-in-law, Donald Ortega of White Rock; sisters-in-law: Diana Taylor and husband Steve of White Rock, Rozanna Bieckler and husband Rick of Albuquerque, Suzanna Phillips and husband Andrew of Idaho Falls; brother-in-law, Andrew Ortega of White Rock; numerous nephews, nieces and other loving family & friends. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. also at the Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe. Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Rick Biechler, David, Eugene, Ray A. and Steve Garcia and Robert Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Stephanie Chaves, Anthony Garcia, Keith Garcia, Melanie Peña,. Amanda Roberts and Matthew Waldschmidt. The family of Pete Fred Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
