Peggy Griego – 63, a resident of Velarde, NM, passed away on September 26, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Ben Roybal; grandchild Isaiah Maestas; Ermelina and Nicolas Gonzales who were considered her in-laws.

Peggy is survived by her loving partner of 25 years, Richard Gonzales; son Joshua; daughter, Crystal Contreras; her grandchildren; mother, Mary Z. Roybal, and many family members.

Peggy is also survived by a very special Gonzales family who loved her dearly.  

A rosary for Peggy will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 7:00 pm, at the DeVargas Funeral Home.   On Friday, October 6, 2023, a second rosary will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony of Padua Church in Dixon, NM, with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 am.  Burial will take place immediately following at the Fr. Kupper Cemetery in Embudo, NM.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Sanchez, Larry Gonzales, Nathan Ortiz, Robert Roybal, Paul Gonzales and Benny Roybal.
