Paul Luther, 75, a resident of Española, formerly from Salida, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 in Albuquerque. Mr. Luther was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Darlene; his son Kenny; and one nephew, Tim. Paul was born in Page County, Iowa to Kenneth and Darlene (Ken and Dar) on May 7, 1942. Over the years Paul had a variety of careers including owning a movie theater, being a radio announcer, and a career in the electronics department of Walmart. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Navy. He enjoyed photography, working on his model trains, and learning how to grow vegetables in the warm summers of New Mexico. He spent much time and really enjoyed researching his ancestry, learning about those that came before and discovering tidbits about previous generations. Paul is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Darlene and her husband Erik; grandchildren, Tandem, Taylen, Mckenna, Boston, and Brionna; great-grandchildren, Kennadie and Willoe; two sisters and their families: Francie and husband Richard, and Patty and husband Gordon. He is also survived by his wife’s children and their families: Bill and Meredith, Cathy and Rick, and Mark and Rachel; grandchildren and their families: Colin, Megan and Mike, Robyn and Tony, Patrick, Shane, Ouray, and Jehoran; and great-grandchildren Kinsley, Tucker and Parker. Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Bladder Cancer Society. The family of Paul Luther has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
