Patrocinio “Pat” Ortiz, age 86 a lifelong resident of Cuyamungue, NM., was born on February 26, 1929 and passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Pat was preceded in death by his parents Tiofilo and Cleotilde Ortiz, his brothers, Antonio Jesus Ortiz, Joe Ortiz, Eddie Ortiz, Elias Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, Antonio “Tony” Ortiz, Richard “Dickie” Ortiz, and his sister Norberta Garcia. Pat is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Clarabelle Ortiz, his Daughter Elida Ortiz, Son Patrick Ortiz and wife Lynette, Henry Ortiz, grandchildren Erin Gomez and husband Jamie, Stephanie Ortiz, Justin Mayrant, Amanda Mayrant , and Alana Mayrant, 3 great grandchildren, Ariana Gomez, James Gomez and Leland Martinez, one brother Senivo “Art” Ortiz, Sisters in law, Sally Ortiz, Minnie Ortiz, Jennie Ortiz, Theresa Daily, Alice Lopez and husband Joe along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him dearly. Pat treasured his family and would do anything to see that they were well taken care of. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, and nothing meant more to him than having his family and friends close by. In 1953 Pat received an honorable discharge after serving his country in the US Army. Pat was a salesman in Northern New Mexico for Maloof Distributing where he retired after 30 years; he was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 6:00p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a rosary to follow at 7:00p.m. A second public viewing will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 6:00p.m. at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Parish in Pojoaque, with a rosary to follow at 7:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 10:00a.m. also at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Parish in Pojoaque, with graveside services to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15p.m. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Sammy Ortiz, Lawrence Ortiz, John Sena, David Sena, David Herrera, and Ricky Ortiz.
