Patricia Ruth Tubb, 90 of White Rock, NM died on Thursday, September 10, 2026 while in hospice at Beehive of Santa Fe. 

She was born January 25, 1936 in Jamaica, New York. Due to the nature of her father’s employment, the family lived half of the year in Carle Place, NY and the other half in Aiken, SC before moving to Los Angeles, CA in 1953. Several years later, while attending a social gathering at church, she met John E. Tubb and they were married May 29, 1963; eventually moving to Los Alamos in 1973. 

Patricia (Pat) always had a desire to help others. After her own children were grown, she began looking for ways to help other children in the community. She began by purchasing and then donating needed school supplies to the Los Alamos and White Rock schools. The next year, an article was published in the Los Alamos Monitor bringing community awareness to the local need. Over the course of 10 years and with the help of John, along with the generous, annual community support, Pat shopped for “the best deals”, on school supplies. These in turn, were donated throughout the schools in Los Alamos County, quickly expanding to meet the need at schools in Rio Arriba County. Additionally, being a gifted knitter, Pat was also busy knitting baby blankets that she sent to hospitals in California. 

Very proud of her Scottish heritage and an avid history buff, Pat and John first traveled to Scotland in 1987 to visit her relatives. This was just the beginning, leading to many years of traveling abroad visiting 24 countries together. 

Pat is survived by her husband of 63 years, John; four children: Pam (Sean) Carter of Oregon, Trina (Brett) Williams of Arizona, Tracy (Dan) Rich of Michigan, and Craig Tubb of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will take place at a later date for close friends and family.
