Obituary

Our dear mommy, Pamie P. Chacon was called by our heavenly father on May 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Our mother was born on April 7, 1952 in Cordova, NM to Jeremias and Celida Romero. Mom had a passion for caring for the sick, from working graveyard shift at the Hacienda de Salud for 10 years (1990 -2000) to transitioning over to Los Alamos Visiting Nurses in 2001 and retiring in 2023. Her patients in Los Alamos and White Rock referred to her as “Their Angel” it was an honor to see my mom being picked out of other caregivers, she was deeply loved, her passion was caring for the sick and the elderly, especially her dear Helen Barker of Los Alamos, NM. Our mother loved to plant flowers every year during April or May and she very well knew when it was time to plant. Our mother and fathers’ legacy will live on forever, especially “los consejos!” Momma would “say behind every good woman is a great man, and behind every successful man is a great woman.” With a great husband by her side of 43 years of marriage, before our daddy was called by our heavenly father April 15, 2016, our parents built a fortress together; they were so proud of their home and keeping up with it. Our daddy always had a honey do list, that’s for sure. But there was not one thing that he ever said no to his “darling.” She loved cleaning, listening to KDCE radio to list items on the swap shop. She was very neat, never a Saturday went by without her saying: “Abran, Jeremy this is my day to clean!” and if it wasn’t for my mom and dad being so neat and clean, we learned that from our parents, and now we have “OCD”, they raised us kids the best they could and did a great job! My brother and I could have not asked for better parents. We were blessed to have been raised by such loving, strict, caring parents. Mommy and Daddy used to love to go out dancing at the Casanova Night Club. People would complement them on how well dressed they were.  I, Jeremy would get all happy because I knew I was going to get to sleep at my cousins house that night. We would also like to show our love and gratitude my mother’s daughter-in-law Michelle Tafoya and cousin Laverne Castillo for caring for my mother while she was sick. We love you guys!

Pamie was preceded in death by her loving husband Eddie Chacon, parents; Jeremias and Celida Romero, brothers; Tobias, Julian, Orlando and Phillip Romero, sister; Anita Martinez.
