Oscar (Husler) Franco, 21

Born March 6, 2000 a resident of Tierra Azul, NM passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November 13, 2021.

Oscar loved music, singing, playing video games, working on his car, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Oscar loved his big brother Shawndee as they were best friends. He loved horseplaying with his siblings and making people laugh. He was a mama’s boy and loved his dad, Michael Barela.

Oscar was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Elizabeth Quintana and Lawerance Maestas; Great grandparents Jose, Pancha and Elena Gallegos; Godfather Joseph Montano; Grandmother Manuela Franco; Cousin’s Donald, Andrew, Eric, Carl, Eva; Nephew Christopher; Aunt Suzie Bautista and many other loved ones.

Oscar is survived by his mother Loreen and father Michael Barela, who raised him.  His father Jesus Franco; Brothers Shawndee, Michael Jr; Sisters Seleena (Mundo), Samanta (Samuel), Novalee and Evalyn; Nephews Noah and Niklaus; Niece Leelee; Uncle Gilbert Maestas (Jackie); Aunt Loretta Maestas; Great grandparents MaryAnn Gurule, Andy Gurule (Jennie); Grandfather Javier Quintana; Godmother Melissa Serrano and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

A public visitation for Oscar will begin on Sunday December 12th at 5:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home with a Devotional to follow at 6:00 pm. A service will be held on Monday at 10:00am at Victory Faith Church with a Burial to follow at Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde, NM.

Serving as pallbearers Shawndee Maestas, Michael Barela Jr., Ramon Martinez, Max Barela, Mundo Ochoa, Sef Garcia, Samuel Mondragon and Gilbert Salazar.
