Orlando Rodriguez, 76, a resident of Hernandez and formerly of Española, passed away unexpectedly August 31, 2017. Orlando is preceded in death by his wife, Carla; parents, Alberto Sr. and Bernardita Rodriguez; his son, Albert Rodriguez; step-daughter, Kristy Herrera, sister, Sabinita Duran; brothers, Vianes, Gilbert, Isidoro, Jose and Albert Rodriguez Jr. Mr. Rodriguez was a roofer and a welder and loved to sell his roasted corn on the cob. He is survived by his daughters, Angela Rodriguez (Pete), and Yolanda Gallegos (Gabriel) of Colorado; sons, Timmy Rodriguez (Diana) of Colorado, Tony Rodriguez (Clarissa) of Chimayo, and Louie Rodriguez (Denise) of Española,; step-children, Brenda and Darlene Trujillo, Pat Lucero, and Diahann Cordova and husband Richard and Gary Maestas and wife Edna; grandchildren, Daniel and Michael Zamora, Julian Rodriguez, Jacob, Jeremy, and Aaron (Jessica) Martinez all of Colorado, Tammy Lucero and Tina Rodriguez of Española, Andrea, Melissa and Tony Rodriguez Jr. of Chimayo, Bryan and Gabriel Rodriguez of Española; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Solema Romero (Felipe) of Chimayo, and numerous other relatives and many friends. A Rosary to be recited on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Jose Catholic Church in Hernandez, with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Chili Cemetery. The family of Orlando Rodriguez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
