Orlando Ortiz

Orlando J. Ortiz Sr. (72yrs old), a resident of Espanola, NM, passed away on June 15, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after fighting a long hard battle for many years with stomach cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Alberta Ortiz;

only son Orlando (Orly) Ortiz Jr.; sisters Griselda Trujillo and Mary Cruz Kulnane; brothers Frank, Albert (Tito), Sofio, Reyes and Ross Ortiz.

He survived by his wife Cecilia Ortiz (52 years of marriage); daughters Vangie Martinez, Olivia Ortiz and Sybil Cota; grand-daughter Pamela Martinez; grandson Jeremy Marlow; only great granddaughter Morgana Beverly Ray;special God-daughters Melodie Begay, Erica Chambers and Shawnee Suazo; and many other relatives.

Orlando was born and raised in El Rito, NM. He was a kind and gentle hearted man. Always looking to help anyone he could.

He was a hardworking man until the very end. His pride and joy was his family. Especially his grandchildren. He always did for others who had a huge giving heart. He was a great friend to many. He enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, especially loved his westerns. He was a family jokester, always loved to make people happy. It was important to him make sure everyone felt important and loved.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 am at the El Buen Pastor Assembly of God (609 Calle Rivera Espanola, NM 87532).
