Nikki Baum Ashlock

Nikki Baum Ashlock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025.

Living in Española, New Mexico, Nikki was known for her strength, resilience, and determination, as well as her warmth and the joy she brought into every room. She faced life with courage and a steady heart, always standing firmly for the people she loved.

Nikki was a talented florist who competed in floral competitions and shared her artistry while working in several cherished flower shops, including The Jewel Box, Freeman’s Flowers, and Flores de Santa Fe. Flowers were not just her profession, but a passion and a way she expressed care, creativity, and love.

Above all else, Nikki cherished her family. She shared over 30 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Kenneth Ashlock, and was a loving and proud mother to her daughter, Amberlee Lucero and husband Peter Lucero. She found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother to Cinco and Lola Lucero, who were the light of her life and the center of her heart.

Nikki will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her kind heart, and the love she gave so freely. She had a presence that made people feel welcome and cared for, and her absence will be deeply felt.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ashlock; her daughter, Amberlee Lucero and husband Peter Lucero; her grandchildren, Cinco and Lola Lucero; her siblings Clover Baum; Dixie White and husband Mark White; Billy Baum and wife Diana Baum; and Richard Baum and wife Mary Baum; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Warren and Maudie Gordon, and her parents, Helen and Carl Freeman.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home in Española, New Mexico

Nikki will be deeply missed and forever loved.
