Nicolas Gonzales

Nicolas “Nick” Gonzales, 89, a resident of Dixon, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 1, 2017 following a short illness. Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his infant son, Richard; mother, Maclovia; sister, Cipricia Griego; nephews, Leroy and Michael Griego; niece, Virginia Griego; mother and father-in-law, Rumaldo and Magdalena Gonzales, and many other relatives. Mr. Gonzales is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ermelina; sons, Armando (Dana), Richard (Peggy) and Larry Gonzales; daughters, Rachel (Dennis) Padilla and Shirley Gonzales; grandsons, Albert Roybal and Damian Gonzales, and a grandson that he raised like a son, Paul Gonzales and fiancée Erlinda; step-grandchildren, Vaness Padilla (Miguel), Dennis Padilla Jr., and step-great grandson, Miguel Jr.; sisters-in-law, Oralia, Lucy and Juanita Gonzales and Ruth Gurule; special nieces, Lydia Salazar and Diana Griego; nephew, Bobby Griego and many other loved ones. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial will take place at the Father Cooper Cemetery in Dixon. Serving the family as pallbearers are Paul Gonzales, Albert Roybal, Damian Gonzales, Dennis Padilla, Norman Gurule and Justin Salazar- Torrez. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ruben Lucero, Horacio Martinez, Manuel Archuleta, Andrea Trujillo and Ricki Garcia. Special thanks to Ambercare, Giving Home Health Care Services, Embudo Clinic Staff, and Father Simeon. The family of Nicolas “Nick” Gonzales has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
