In Loving Memory of Nellie Ulibarri-Follo (1935–2025)

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Nellie Ulibarri-Follo, who left us peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born on December 1, 1935, in Las Nutrias, New Mexico, Nellie was the daughter of Salomon and Elisa Ulibarri. She grew up with several brothers and sisters. She was married to her beloved husband of 57 years, Ralph Follo Jr., until his passing on May 16, 2012.

Above all else, Nellie was a family woman. She dedicated her life to raising her children, nurturing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Nellie is survived by her 7 children: Robert A. Follo, Ralph “Larry” Follo, Karen Stowman, Veronica Garcia (Orlando Garcia), Donna Philbin, Tina Serda, and Theresa Ulabarri (Jesus Maes). Her 7 grandchildren, Robert “Bobby” Follo, Tanya Salazar, Ashley Serda, Jayson Serda, Brandon Stowman, Christopher Garcia (Liz Garcia), and Britini Garcia, and her 8 great-grandchildren, Joylen Candelaria, Defearian Salazar, Alyssa Garcia, Olivia Garcia, Orlando Garcia, Gunnar “Cruz” Maes, Arabella Garcia-Wiggins, and Julian Garcia-Wiggins.

Nellie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Follo Jr.; her parents, Salomon & Elisa Ulibarri; and her sister and best friend, Beatrice Ulibarri.

Nellie’s legacy of love, humility, and perseverance will continue to live on in all who had the privilege of knowing her.
